I will find a way to own this.

Never buy one of these.

I’ve had nothing but problems with my Jetta and it frustrates me to no end. I’ve had to have the linkage redone, the cruise control sensor replaced, a leak/clog in the sunroof drains fixed and the carpet replaced…and I only have 46k miles on it. And I’m not even counting all the little things that have gone wrong with my car.

NEVER BUY A JETTA.

Alright. I’ve decided that I need to change up the format a little bit. I’m not able to watch movies fast enough and I’ve found that I tend to repeat myself in the various movie posts. So I’m going to switch up to more of a typical blog style format. I’m not going to focus on any one thing in particular but just what ever happens to inspire me on a given day.

So the first topic will be cars. Specifically sports cars and the automatic transmission. I don’t get this. You want a sporty car but don’t want to do the part of the work that makes it sporty?? I just don’t get it. You get so much more power out of the manual transmission that you do out of an automatic, because you dictate the changing of gears. And sports cars are all about power. Why would you rob yourself of that power?? There is just something inherently wrong with a sports car with an automatic transmission.

This all stems from a guy at work who wants to buy a Nissan 350Z, but he wants an automatic (which comes standard on the Fairlady version, by the way). His reasoning is that he drives 30 miles to and from work each day and he doesn’t want to deal with the manual in stop and go traffic. First, I have a Jetta that is a manual and I drive through stop and go traffic 12 miles one way every day. It’s not that bad. After a few months of driving a manual, it becomes second nature and you no longer notice it. Secondly, if you don’t want a manual, DON’T GET A SPORTS CAR!!! There are plenty of cars that get better gas mileage than the Z and are acceptable in an automatic. But for gods sake, don’t get a sports car in an automatic!!!
