David Beckham is coming across the pond to play MLS.
Woo. Hoo.
I can only think of two reasons why he’s coming over here (besides the $250M).
1) He and his wife are fading in popularity in England, so they’ve decided to come to LA in hopes to stay relevant in the publics mind.
2) Beckham’s skills have slipped and he’s come to MLS to extend his career. He’s probably no longer the best player in Europe anymore. He may not even be in the top 5. So he sees his chance to extend his career by coming to the US. He’ll obviously be the best player in MLS, since American soccer players are not as good as Europeans. Keep in mind that I’ve based all this on my seeing one MLS shootout and a couple of World Cup games. Clearly, my knowledge of soccer players in America is extensive.
I guess my point is this: I still don’t care about MLS.
